At the SILK::ROAD Festival, ancient soundscapes meet contemporary imagination.
Traditional instruments, voices, and gestures are recontextualized stepping beyond their origins to resonate in new acoustic, spatial, and emotional dimensions.
Through concerts, performances, and installations, audiences are invited to experience the living cultures of the Silk Road, not as distant heritage, but as a pulse that continues to move through us.
Each encounter becomes an act of listening, sensing, and remembering. An invitation to be present.
The festival is a platform for artistic exploration across disciplines.
It opens a space where music interacts with movement, architecture, light, and technology where perception itself becomes part of the composition.
Rather than reproducing traditions, SILK::ROAD seeks transformation:
to reveal how sound and presence can shape shared experience, how artistic forms can shift and expand in dialogue with the world around them.
Emerging in 2019 from the Hamburg concert series fresh::sounds – Seidenstrasse (2015–2019), held at resonanzraum Hamburg, the SILK::ROAD Festival is a new concept curated by composer Jelena Dabić, continuing her ongoing exploration of sound as space and performance as a form of connection.
