H::FLUXUS This conceptual album is driven by the energy of a dedicated group of international artists experimenting at the intersection of musical improvisation, visual art, live VR video recording, and sound engineering. Led by SILK::ROAD artistic director Jelena Dabić and French percussionist Philippe Ciminato, this live recording took place in an industrial hall in Hamburg, Germany. H:: stands for Happening, Heart, Healing, Herbal, Hamburg, Hall… (and more). FLUXUS is a nod to the iconic 1960s artistic movement. Originating in the U.S., it found strong representation in both Germany and France – particularly in Nice, Philippe Ciminato's birthplace. Growing up immersed in this cultural heritage, the young musician actively participated in local Happenings, profoundly shaping his artistic inspiration. With this album of spontaneous compositions, the band treats sound as living material: bending, fracturing, and suspending it between free improvisation and sharply defined modern forms. Built on years of shared listening and instinctive interplay, their music unfolds through intensity and delicacy, shifting seamlessly between groove, gesture, and breath. H::FLUXUS captures this presence in its raw, fluid, and deeply connected form. Following their acclaimed album weAve (InOuïe Distribution, 2021), Philippe Ciminato continues to explore improvisation in quintet format, focusing on instant composition and the emotional power that emerges from long-standing musical friendships and a shared passion for free improvisation and contemporary art.
